Overview

The Dashboard gives you the high-level shape of a single domain item — a procedure, condition, or DRG. It’s the “understand this at a glance” view: typical values across key metrics, summarized as central tendencies (mean and median) rather than a full time series.

When to use it

  • You want a quick, sanity-checkable picture of a procedure, condition, or DRG.
  • You’re starting an analysis and want to build confidence in the data before moving to Analytics or Predictions.
  • You want a fast read on typical cost, revenue, length of stay, and surgical time for one item.

Inputs

  • Domain — procedure, condition, or drg.
  • A specific item in that domain — selected via the Entity Resolver (resolve the name to an ID first).
  • Metric — the financial or operational measure to summarize.

Steps

Choose a domain

Select procedure, condition, or DRG.

Select the item

Use the search box to resolve the name, then pick the specific item.

Read the distribution

Review the summarized distribution — central tendencies across the key metrics.

Outputs

A compact distribution summary for the selected item, including central-tendency rows (such as mean and median) across columns like:
  • the selected financial metric (e.g. revenue, cost, or profit),
  • length of stay (days),
  • surgical/operating time (minutes).
Margin-style metrics are shown as a percentage; financial metrics are shown in currency.

Notes & caveats

  • The Dashboard summarizes the shape of an item; for trends over a date range or breakdowns by surgeon/payor/provider/client, use Analytics.
  • The set of metrics available on this view is intentionally focused. Hospital-only metrics depend on your organization type.
  • Results are scoped to your organization.
